FAQ

If you look through a magnifying glass at any flatscreen TV, you will see a sheet of red, green and blue dots (and sometimes yellow).  A digital LED sign is similar except much larger, since the viewing distance is much greater.  However, HD signs are different in that the 3 led pixels are combined into a single dot to increase image quality.  For more explanation (with pictures), contact us for our White Paper titled “Selecting the Right LED Display”.

The minimum you need is an electrical outlet where you can plug in the sign.  If you choose a large sign, you may need an electrician to install a second circuit.  You will also need a simple network cable connected back to your computer if you choose not to use the wireless connection.

Poor image is almost always due to  selecting a pitch that is too big.  If the sign looks ok from a greater distance, “loose pitch” is the problem.  Make sure you select a pitch that will look amazing from the minimum viewing distance..  Another problem is when a loose pitch is used and the user tries to put too many lines of text on the display.  As text size is reduced, you need more pixels to maintain clarity.  Contact us for help figuring this out

This is due to a combination of loose pitch and small text.  Using your print ad on an LED screen does not often work.  Close up, the pixels dots are so large that we can’t make out the text.  However, moving back doesn’t work either since the text is now too small for the longer distance.  A good image requires that the layout be specifically set for LED displays.  Coincidentally, using an image meant for an LED sign on a computer or laptop, will look extremely tiny on screen.

No, an LED display can use an integrated night sensor to lower the output of the sign at night, returning to higher brightness during daylight hours.
